Select the state, matter type and claim value relevant to your exercise.
Review an estimated fee calculation and the assumptions behind it.
Compare how a money-recovery claim may be valued for fees in two states, then verify the relevant court-fee schedule.
Estimates are not a registry quotation. Local amendments, relief valuation, exemptions and process fees can change the amount payable.
Court fees in India are set largely by state legislation, such as the Telangana Court Fees and Suits Valuation Act, 1956 and the Maharashtra Court Fees Act, 1959, so the same suit can attract a different fee in Hyderabad, Mumbai or Delhi. Ad valorem slabs, fixed fees for certain reliefs and caps on maximum fees all vary. The calculator applies a state profile to the matter type and claim value you enter, shows the estimated fee, and lists the slab or rule it used so you can see how the figure was reached.
It helps students studying the Civil Procedure Code and suit valuation, interns asked to prepare a filing checklist, and anyone comparing how court-fee law differs across states for a project.
For a drafting class, you prepare a plaint for recovery of ₹8,50,000 with interest in a Telangana civil court. Select Telangana, choose a money suit, and enter the principal claim. The calculator shows an ad valorem estimate and the slab applied. You then repeat the exercise for Maharashtra, notice the difference, and in your note explain which statute governs each figure and that interest accrued up to the date of suit forms part of the amount claimed for valuation, while future interest does not.
It includes profiles for many Indian states and union territories. Check the state schedule shown in the result before relying on it.
Separate items such as process fees and vakalatnama stamps may be listed where the profile includes them. Confirm local requirements with the registry.
Relief valuation, recent amendments, exemptions and local practice can change the fee. The calculator gives an estimate for study, not a quotation.
