What Evidence Act Section 24 covered

BSA Section 22 adds "coercion" to the list and merges Sections 24, 28 and 29 of the Evidence Act into one provision, with the rules on confessions made after the impression is removed and on confessions otherwise relevant now appearing as provisos.
Which law applies: Evidence Act or BSA?
The BSA applies from 1 July 2024. Under Section 170 of the BSA, an application, trial, inquiry, investigation, proceeding or appeal that was pending immediately before that date continues to be governed by the Indian Evidence Act, 1872.
