Settl features
Negotiation and settlement software for Indian lawyers
Many disputes settle, but the path there usually runs through scattered calls, emails and drafts. Settl gives the parties and their counsel a structured, confidential workspace to exchange positions, narrow the gap and record the terms.
What the negotiation and settlement does
A shared space, separate from your case file
Disputes that involve the other side run in their own workspace. Your internal case administration, notes and billing stay private to the firm.
Invite the other party or their counsel
Invite the opposing party or opposing counsel into the dispute, with an NDA accepted before they take part.
Statements and structured communication
Each side sets out its position, and messages stay attached to the dispute with a history of what was said and when.
Common-ground prompts
AI assistance highlights where the parties' positions overlap and suggests questions that move the discussion forward. It does not decide the dispute.
Offer rounds and recommendations
Exchange offers round by round, see the history of the negotiation, and view an AI-generated settlement recommendation as one input to your own advice.
Settlement terms and mediators
Record the agreed terms in the workspace, generate documents from them, and find a human mediator when the parties need a neutral.
How it works
Open the dispute
Describe the dispute and your client's position.
Invite the other side
Send the invitation; they accept the NDA and join.
Exchange positions and offers
Work through statements and offer rounds, using the prompts as needed.
Record the settlement
Capture the agreed terms and prepare the settlement document for signature.
Plans and limits
Settl is an assisted negotiation tool, not a mediator, arbitrator or law firm. AI summaries and recommendations are reviewable starting points, not legal advice or a prediction of outcome. Collaboration with opposing counsel is part of the Professional plan.
Negotiation and settlement: common questions
Is what is said in the workspace confidential?
Participants accept an NDA before joining a dispute. Whether settlement communications are protected in later proceedings depends on the law and on what the parties agree, so record the basis on which you are negotiating.
Does the AI decide who is right?
No. It surfaces common ground and suggests a possible settlement range from what the parties have entered. The lawyers and their clients decide whether and on what terms to settle.
Can we bring in a mediator?
Yes. The workspace includes a way to find a human mediator when the parties want a neutral to assist.
